We are excited to announce that we have awarded two deserving students with our annual M. Angela Theriac Memorial Scholarship. After carefully reviewing many impressive applications, we chose Arrah Sandy from West Liberty-Salem High School as our winner and Elizabeth Brown from Springfield High School as our runner up.
Arrah Sandy is involved in many activities at West Liberty-Salem High School such as softball, color guard, Key Club, iPad Committee, Calculus Club, choir and is a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to attend Eastern Michigan University next year and major in exercise science. Her goal after finishing her undergraduate degree, is to pursue a master’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics. She was inspired to work with amputees after becoming involved with the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.
Elizabeth Brown has received many awards at Springfield High School including the Award of Excellence, the Stellar Student Award and the AP Scholar with Honor Award. She is also involved in the community through her volunteer work for Springfield Regional Medical Center, Good Samaritan Outreach Center, Key Club International, and peer mentoring. She plans to major in pharmaceutical sciences in the fall at The Ohio State University. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy which will allow her to practice as a Pharmacist.
Congratulations to both of our winners! We know both Arrah and Elizabeth have bright futures ahead of them. We were thrilled to once again receive so many outstanding applications. We want to thank each and every student that applied, and we wish them all well in their future endeavors.
