Fraud

Scammers are constantly finding new ways to steal your money. The credit union has your back and is monitoring fraudulent trends to help make sure your funds are safe.  Over the past month the credit union has seen an increase in ATM and Debit Card fraud.  We urge you to keep a close eye on your accounts and notify us immediately if you notice anything out of the ordinary.

We have placed blocks on certain merchants, mainly in California, and Cardtronic stand-alone ATM machines.  We strongly encourage you to use ATM machines that are in high traffic areas and preferably a CO-OP ATM (visit our ibewuwfcu.com to find the nearest ATM).

When you approach an ATM and it looks like it has been tampered with or the slot where you insert your card is loose, the machine could have a skimming device on it that could be used to duplicate your card.  Do not use the ATM and find another location.   Cover the key pad when entering your PIN or place your hand over all the keys as some fraudsters can get your PIN from heat detection from the key pad.

Contact the credit union if you have fraud to report at 503-253-8193.
